I have to say, while ironing this beautiful gown, I could hardly wait to photograph it! It's truly gorgeous and so extremely soft, made of rayon satin. I don't know the exact age, definitely vintage, 1940's reminiscent. It irons beautifully and as you can see, ends up as glamorous as can be. There are 12 cloth/satin buttons on the back, a bias hemline, full sleeves, a bow/bouquet on the left hip and a built in cinching belt. I have it displayed on my 36" bust mannequin, but it does measure larger. Bust - up to 40" armpit to armpit Waist - up to 37" Hips - up to 48" Length - 60" Sleeves - 26" from shoulder to cuff Upper arm circumference - 14" It has snap cuffs which still have the hardware but do need tightening. The bouquet (bow) at the hip needs some TLC, cloth belt buckle has some fray. I had a thought, replacing the belt buckle with a rhinestone one would be stunning! There are no tears or holes, although there are a few loose threads here and there. The right sleeve needs the seam resewn a few inches, not torn, just needs closing. I did notice a few very minor weak spots on the fabric under the right arm, barely worth mentioning. I always recommend dry cleaning on vintage items like this, I did see light soiling on the cuffs and under the arms, very minor. Overall, this is an outstanding gown, all the flaws noted are minor at best. Any bride would be thrilled to wear this on her wedding day.
