LUSTROUS VINTAGE 1940'S ROSE GOLD / MAUVE PINK RAYON SATIN 2 PIECE GRAND SWEEPING BALL / PROM / COTTILION / PARTY GOWN DRESS 32 - 280" SWEEP

Item #: 1003796 Click on image to see more pictures! A brilliant 2 piece satin beauty - gown with matching bolero jacket - grand sweep of 280", just amazing. The condition is really remarkable for the age, I see no holes or tears. There is antique ivory lace that make up the collar of the jacket and match on the cuffs. The strapless gown has a matching layer of lace all the way around the bust/upper back as well. The hemline is bias cut and just flows like a dancing princess. The lace on one cuff needs to be joined at the seam again, the threads seem to have been removed or fallen away, not a tear, just needs to be sewn again, see photo. I think it would be much better done on a sewing machine, so I didn't attempt to fix it by hand. Light soiling along the hemline, as is expected, I don't see any evidence that this would have been worn more than once or a few times at the most, it is really in wonderful condition. The sleeveless gown itself has 5 stays all the way around, a metal zipper on the left side that zips up and down smoothly. The darted bust will fit 32" maximum, waist approximately 24", hips are free fitting, length of the gown itself (top of bust to hem), is 52". The bolero jacket will fit 32-34" bust when closed, sleeves are 15", length is 14", shoulders are 13". Measurement Questions? Price: 325.00
