It's really gorgeous and quite a conversation opener! Quite a find for sellers like myself. I nearly passed this up but kept returning to see the elegance and take a closer look at it. I am told it dates to the 1920's, it's larger than usual when considering the vintage beaded purses of the day. The flaws noted are that the silk lining has long since tattered and appears to have been cut away, as shown. But the outside is just phenomenal and I was hard pressed to find any missing beads at all. There is one on the edge of the purse where the thread is raised and I didn't touch it so as not to make anything happen to the bead that is still attached to it. The fringe style beading at the bottom is in great shape, besides one or two fringes that are missing beads. There is a monogram of the initials MLS on the framework on one side, gives this purse a mystery of a history! There is a chain handle, everything seems to be fine with that, and it closes just fine with the kiss lock frame. It measures 11" long and just under 8" wide, add 6" for the chain drop. I would say that this purse would be outstanding to use or even display - wonderfully stunning! Measurement Questions? Price: 325.00 |
