It is decorated with vines of flowers with a few little butterflies as well! I don't see any issues, that little brown spot on the lid is virtually gone because I was able to scrape it off with my fingernail. A great gift for someone special. Please consider the photos as part of the description and measurements. I lightly cleaned it, normal signs of pre-ownership. I'm not sure how to tell if it's ceramic or porcelain.
