The beret entered the fashion scene in the early 1900's and continued well into the late 1940's, taking a break in the 50's when ladies wanted to show off their beautifully detailed hairstyles. The beret emerged again in the later 1960's. We can credit France for this trendy hat style that was made iconic by Hollywood celebrities of the time, like Lauren Bacall and models galore. You can even see images of the gorgeous Princess Diana wearing berets in the 1980's. This particular beret is made of a pearl white rayon satin, black stitching and metal buttons decorated with clear rhinestones - all intact. The inside lining is rayon as well. The fold inside the crown may need a few stitches in a few areas to tack it down better, otherwise this hat is amazing! When measuring the opening, it will fit a crown of 19" circumference. Please gauge the measurement around where you would like the hat to sit on your head, I would imagine this is something that is easy to adjust to your desired look.
