A truly rare find in this condition - graceful and very Old Hollywood. This dressing gown has all the earmarks of an uptown classy lady who once wore such refined garments. The fabric is sheer, but I'm not entirely sure what it is. It resembles a raw silk, but I don't think it is. It was found in a box of family items that dated from around 1930's-1940's. Coming from a family farm in Iowa, but I can't imagine someone on a farm wearing this, so it looks as though it was probably put away and never worn. I'm somewhat familiar with fabric, but I know it's not of the current polyester feel. Not a cotton linen, and not silk or netting, but ultra elegant regardless. The sleeves are full and puffy, lots of room, there is a darted bust, lace above the bust, lace covered buttons, an attached belt, open below the waist. The buttons are on the cuffs, one at the neckline, one at the center bust and one at the waist. It is an extraordinary piece of lingerie and the condition is great. A few spots at the hem, not sure of the origin, but I suspect it happened in storage. I don't guarantee they can be removed, offering as found. No holes or tears that I can see otherwise. Bust is 36" when closed, waist 26" when buttoned, hips free fitting but 50" when closed, sleeves 28", shoulders 15.5", length 57". Please feel free to let me know if you need additional measurements. Per my shop disclaimer, this will be shipped without insurance. If you require insurance, you must let me know and it will be billed to you separately. Excuse the wrinkles here and there, I did my best to iron the robe and treat it gently.
