This is an extraordinary find which was discovered in the attic of a home that was purchased in Denver. I am not completely sure of the fabric, I have included some close-ups, maybe you can tell. It has a gathered elastic waist, poof short sleeves, a squared neckline. I can't imagine it being worn without something underneath, being so sheer, so it's possible it's a nightgown. In any case, it's very lovely and a tribute to the era. I am told it's early 1900's, which makes sense since the other items found were baby clothes of the same era. Very classy and feminine to say the least. Flaws noted are some staining under the arms, a few spots noted as shown, and one very small weak spot under one arm that has not become an official hole so to speak. Overall, I would say it's in quite remarkable condition for being over 100 years old! Bust is 34", waist 25-44", hips free fitting up to 64", length is 59". There is no stretch to the actual fabric, except the waist obviously. Completely wearable and quite the conversation piece. I would call this museum display worthy, without a doubt! I do not recommend washing yourself, dry clean first and consult with your dry cleaner about care of the fabric yourself. I do not guarantee that the stains under the arms can be removed with dry cleaning - selling as found.
